Paszek prevails at the “Break Festival”

Tamira Paszek from Vorarlberg and her Kosovan opponent Arlinda Rushiti delivered a thrilling performance in the quarter-finals of the ITF W35 tournament in Nottingham. After 2:10 hours, the 33-year-old from Dornbirn was finally able to convert her third match point and leave the hard court as the 4:6 - 7:5 - 6:3 winner.

Remarkable: In total, Paszek had to surrender her service six times, Rushiti even had to surrender her serve seven times. In the third set, Paszek was only the first player to get her service through in game seven.

As a result, the world no. 336 is through to the Nottingham semi-finals, where the 21-year-old Lithuanian Klaudija Bubelyte (WTA no. 684) now awaits.
