Kyocera closes site: 70 employees out of a job
Kyocera AVX has announced the closure of its production site in Salzburg, which will lead to the dismissal of around 70 employees.
Around 70 employees will lose their jobs as a result of this site closure, with the PRO-GE trade union criticizing the decision as hasty and driven by greed. There were already job cuts in 2022, which were sold as a measure to secure the site.
The redundancy plan is currently being negotiated with the works council, while the relocation of machinery is to take place in the coming months. The union is demanding that no obstacles are placed in the way of the employees and that the value of the site is recognized by the owners.
Kyocera AVX in Salzburg currently employs around 180 people and specializes in the production of control units, electronic pump and LED modules for the automotive industry.
