Blue instead of red! Ferrari changes the car color
Unbelievable, but true: around 70 years ago, John Surtees was crowned world champion in a blue and white Ferrari. Niki Lauda also once wore a blue racing suit at Ferrari. The Scuderia wants to pay tribute to this history at the Miami Grand Prix and step on the gas with a special livery in shades of blue.
The extent of the special design has not yet been determined. But Ferrari has confirmed that at least two classic colors from the long-standing history of the traditional brand, "Azzurro La Plata" and "Azzurro Dino", will be seen on the SF-24 in Miami.
The planned special livery for the Miami Grand Prix is to be unveiled directly in Florida, perhaps on May 2, when a new Ferrari model will also be shown.
Special liveries
Special liveries are nothing new, even at Ferrari. For the anniversary of the 1000th race at the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix in Mugello, the team opted for a burgundy red look. In 2022 and 2023, the Italians raced in Monza with yellow accents. White was added at the end of the 2023 season in Las Vegas.
