Things are continuing to go uphill, says Lindsey Vonn. After her knee operation, she hopes to be fit enough to strut her stuff in high heels at today's Laureus Sports Gala in Madrid.

It doesn't look particularly tasty when she pulls off the plaster to show the scar. But she is already busy training again. Lindsey Vonn as the public knows her: ambitious, full of ambition, always in attack mode. After her knee operation, she has taken another "step in the right direction", she writes on Instagram. She hopes to be strong enough to shine in high heels at the sports gala in the evening.

Bone on bone
Around three weeks ago, the former ski queen had to go under the knife again. "Bone on bone in my right knee," she explained at the time. With the new operation, she hopes to get the pain under control as far as possible.

"I hope that I can lead the active life I want," she explained shortly after the operation. It looks very much as if she will succeed.
