Energie Steiermark is lowering its prices from July: Gas will be

over 50 percent cheaper, electricity by eleven percent!

At last! The Styrian regional energy supplier is turning the price spiral - but this time it's going down. As of July 1, Energie Steiermark is lowering its tariff for natural gas - by more than half to 5.8 cents/kWh. The electricity price, which has been a heavy burden on the monthly budget of many Styrian households, is also falling. From August 1, customers will pay 21.87 cents/kWh, exactly 10.7 percent less.

"This reduction applies not only to new customers, but also to all existing customers," the company cheers. After the previous price reduction in 2023, 25,000 new customers were gained. "We are thus consistently passing on the benefits of the more favorable market environment to our customers," say Management Board members Christian Purrer and Martin Graf. Due to the mild winter and increased energy-saving awareness, 80 percent of all Energie Steiermark customers have a credit balance on their electricity account.

Incidentally, the reduction will also be passed on by Energie Steiermark subsidiary Energie Graz - to the same extent. What will Styrians have left in their pockets? "Natural gas customers save 930 euros a year, electricity consumers over 90 euros a year."
