His eggs are not suitable for pecking! Because the "newly hatched" hobby farmer Andreas Ströbitzer not only has six different egg colors in his coop with his partly exotic chickens: The good treatment of his animals makes them lay such extraordinary specimens that even the Natural History Museum in Vienna is interested in them. What he also has to do with master builder Richard Lugner - the "Krone" has all the information.

It was only in the late summer of last year that 52-year-old Andreas Ströbitzer from Wolfsbach in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria started keeping chickens as a hobby. These include specimens from overseas that are rather rare in Europe. "I have already paid attention to exotics, have mixed the breeds again and again and made sure that they also get along," emphasizes the hobby farmer to the "Krone". As a result, he was able to collect six different colors of the oval power donors: Brown, deep chocolate brown, beige, light blue, olive green and white is what the "harvest" looks like.

97-gram heavyweight
He also pays particular attention to laying cycles to ensure that his "hens" only get high-quality feed, says Ströbitzer. The happy hens thank the father of the family for this and have now laid special eggs in his nest: A 97-gram specimen came to light as an absolute heavyweight.

Natural history museum is interested
After Ströbitzer had done some research, he recognized the special feature and contacted the Natural History Museum in Vienna. They are interested in the hobby farmer's property - they are currently putting together a new exhibition. However, they are much more interested in an egg in an egg, as scientific employee Christof Viehauser explains: "It is relatively rare for something like this to be created. And people often don't recognize it because it's a bit misshapen and simply throw it away." The egg inside the egg weighs just six grams, the record for the lightest chicken egg in the world is only a few grams less.

"What kind of eggs do you have?" a pensioner friend jokingly said to Ströbitzer on the phone when he cracked the egg inside the egg and recognized its peculiarity. He exchanged it for plenty of replacements.

Black and white hens
But who laid the special eggs? The hens in Amstetten have no names. But: "The XXXL egg in beige comes from a white, nine-month-old hen, Lohmann Sandy breed," explains the new egg guru of the "Krone". The black hen that laid the egg in the egg is also nine months old. It comes from the Ameraucana breed.

Passengers are also well looked after
Recently, he has not only been taking special care of his hens, but also of his passengers. As the new driver at Star-7-Stretchlimousinen in Sonntagberg, he also drives the limousine that regularly chauffeurs master builder Richard Lugner: "I haven't been able to drive him yet, it's mainly my boss Roland Granzer who does that personally," says Ströbitzer, explaining that the two are good friends.

Even if he wouldn't do an extra egg dance for it, the 52-year-old is already dreaming of driving the media star himself one day. There would probably be a basket full of colorful eggs from the Wolfsbach stable for the dazzling personality Lugner.
