Arrest in toilet facility
15-year-old threatened with a weapon by teenagers in Vienna
A 15-year-old's walk home on Wednesday evening turned into a horror: near a streetcar station in Vienna-Penzing, the boy was threatened with a blank-firing pistol by a group of teenagers of the same age in an attempted robbery.
The victim was approached by a group of teenagers, then the suspect demanded the victim's jacket. In the meantime, the Austrian drew the suspected firearm and fired it once, allegedly holding it against the victim's stomach. Despite the threat, the victim was able to flee.
Teenagers hid in the toilet facility
Based on the personal description of the perpetrator and his companions, three male teenagers were observed in the area of a train station during an immediate manhunt. In the face of the police, they "moved away quickly and went into a toilet facility, where they were stopped", according to the Vienna Police Department on Thursday.
Firearm and baton found
The officers also found the alarm gun and a baton in a cabin. The 15-year-old suspect was provisionally arrested. A small amount of narcotics (presumably cannabis) was also seized from him.
