Offer in Verona
Landlord gives away wine in exchange for a smartphone
A restaurant in Verona (northern Italy) has recently started giving away a bottle of red wine to anyone who hands in their smartphone. 90 percent of guests take up the offer, said the owner of Ristorante Al Condominio.
The prerequisite for this is that guests leave their cell phone in a small box at the entrance before eating. They can then pick it up again after their visit to the restaurant. "There's no reason to look at your cell phone every five seconds. For some people, it's like a drug. This gives them the opportunity to put it aside and drink a good wine," said landlord Angelo Lella about his offer.

According to him, 90 percent of guests already use the option. Other restaurants in Italy have been handing out vouchers to those who voluntarily give up their cell phones for some time now.
