April weather in Carinthia

From 30 degrees and sunshine to frost and rain

Winter coats and hats can be taken out of their boxes again in parts of Carinthia since Tuesday, as a cold front is even causing snowfall.

It has been raining heavily in central and lower Carinthia since Tuesday morning. And it stays that way until the evening. Even Mother Hulda is stopping by, with the snow line dropping to 500 meters in some places by the evening. It has been snowing since the morning on the Pack and Katschberg, where snow chains are compulsory. Temperatures will drop to between one and four degrees.

From Wednesday, typical April weather will set in. We can expect a mix of clouds and sunshine in the coming days and at the weekend, with occasional light showers. Temperatures will reach a maximum of 14 degrees. It will be especially chilly at night, with temperatures only just above zero.

"30 degrees in April, like last weekend in Carinthia - such values are unusual and not the norm, they were absolute records. Now we have the classic weather, fitting for the current season!" says Ubimet meteorologist Nikolas Zimmermann.
