On April 13 and 14, the Balkan Food & Music Festival on Schwarzenbergplatz invites you to celebrate the rich culture of the Balkan countries free of charge. With bands on stage and food stalls offering authentic Balkan cuisine.

The festival, which is unique in Vienna, will present the diversity and richness of the Balkan countries over two days. Visitors can get to know the broad culinary palette of south-eastern Europe in the heart of the city: in addition to numerous traditional dishes and drinks, the event also attracts visitors with many modern, creative gastronomic experiences.

A colorful culinary journey
The Falstaff award-winning Seeteufel from Burgenland will be sailing into the Austrian capital with first-class seafood, Sokrates Wien will be treating visitors to authentic Greek dishes, while Beograd will be delighting their palates with authentic Serbian cuisine, to name just a few of the numerous food stands.

Meat skewers grilled on a charcoal barbecue and spicy filled flatbreads, gözleme, await tasting at Alaturka - which also makes it clear that Turkey has many historical and cultural links with the Balkans. Many Balkan states have a Turkish history: Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo were part of the Ottoman Empire for a long time. And, as we all know, people come together over food.

Of course, dessert is not forgotten either: The culinary journey is rounded off with a selection of desserts such as cold and warm baklava variations and handmade ice cream from the Viennese ice cream brand Sreja Ice.

On stage, changing Balkan bands, including Fetzn' Fisch, Hot Mess feat. Jelena Duric and Greek Madnezz, create the right atmosphere on both days and awaken the visitors' desire to dance. On Sunday evening, a belly dancer show will bring the colorful musical program to a close.

Incidentally, the first 500 guests (over 18) will receive a free slivovitz as a welcome drink. And with free surprises, the organizers have not forgotten about the young audience either.
