“Only knew Admira from the computer game”
"The fact that you drive in the right-hand lane here was a problem for me at first," laughs Admira goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi, who joined Matthew Anderson on loan from champions Celtic Glasgow in August and quickly settled in. "I only knew Admira from the manager game on the computer. But I really like it here now." Like left-back Anderson: "The partnership between the two clubs helped me a lot. I've been able to develop well here and have made a lot of appearances so far."
In contrast to his buddy Tobi, who initially struggled with a persistent meniscus injury and then had to line up behind regular keeper Christoph Haas. "It's the first time I've played from the start in the last few games, and I hope it stays that way now," says Oluwayemi, who doesn't just want to assert himself in Südstadt.
The duo dream of a career at Celtic and would one day like to play in the famous "Paradise". "The club is huge in Scotland," says Anderson. "We're both big fans, we go to every match when we're at home," says the Scot. "Whether you're a soccer fan or not, everyone grows up with Celtic and Rangers." So with the "Bhoys" or the hated city rivals. Incidentally, the "Old Firm derby" recently ended 3:3, with Rangers on the verge of the league title.
"Duel is extremely heated"
Admira's derby opponent on Friday is St. Pölten in the smaller 2nd division. "Nevertheless, this duel is extremely heated. The fans went crazy in the first leg, the atmosphere was outstanding." Whether the duo could imagine a loan beyond the end of the season. Oluwayemi: "If it makes sporting sense." Anderson agrees: "We'll have to see what Celtic have in mind, but it's not out of the question ..."
