Indoor swimming pool employee injured by chlorine vapors

An employee of an indoor swimming pool in southern Styria was injured by chlorine vapors on Monday afternoon.

A 56-year-old employee of a health center in Bad Radkersburg (district of south-eastern Styria) accidentally inhaled toxic chlorine fumes on Monday afternoon. The Slovenian was in the technical room of an indoor swimming pool and was cleaning the chlorine system.

In the meantime, a little chlorine liquid got into a sewage shaft, releasing the vapors, the police reported. The man was taken to hospital. 50 firefighters were deployed.
