Kuenz narrowly misses out on Olympic ticket in Baku

Wrestler Martina Kuenz took third place at the European Olympic qualifying tournament in Baku, but narrowly missed out on direct qualification for the Summer Games in Paris.

In the weight class up to 76 kg, the Tyrolean lost the decisive semi-final fight against the Turkish European champion Yasemin Adar 2:6. Kuenz now wants to use her last chance for an Olympic ticket at the qualifying tournament in Istanbul at the beginning of May.

Aker Schmid, Lukas Staudacher and Daniel Gastl also came away empty-handed in Baku in the hunt for a Paris starting place.
