Senior citizen (87) set fire to garbage cans with ashes
The Völs fire department had to respond to an early morning fire on Monday. A man (87) had disposed of ash in a residual waste garbage can. This ignited and started to burn. The Florianis had to extinguish the fire.
Ashes that had not been disposed of properly in a residual waste garbage can caused a fire department operation at a house in Völs. The homeowner, an 87-year-old local resident, had thrown the remains into the garbage can.
Fire department deployed
These had ignited a short time later and started a fire. The Völs volunteer fire department was quickly able to bring the fire under control. Other residents of the house were not put in danger.
Fortunately, no one was injured. The fire caused two garbage cans to burn out almost completely. The extent of the damage is still unclear.
