Young people aged between twelve and 14 can look forward to two weeks in the high mountains in the Hohe Tauern National Park in July. This is where the annual Junior Ranger Program takes place. The young people gain an insight into the 1856 km2 protected area and learn about the habitat of animals and plants during encounters with vultures, golden eagles or the eternal ice.

"Anyone who is able to experience our impressive natural and cultural landscape in the Hohe Tauern National Park as a young person and is aware of the importance of nature conservation for our future will be able to pass on this knowledge and these values throughout their lives," LR René Zumtobel emphasizes the importance of the programme. This year's training is supported by the Austrian Mint, which has also immortalized the Grossglockner in gold.
