Car driver collides with train on level crossing
A 66-year-old local resident was trapped in her car after colliding with a local train on a level crossing in St. Georgen im Attergau. She was taken to hospital, but the passengers and the driver (47) of the train were lucky.
The 66-year-old from St. Georgen im Attergau was driving her car at lunchtime. At the same time, the local train, driven by a 47-year-old man, was also heading towards Attersee. At a level crossing, the train and car collided for unknown reasons.
Florianis rescued the woman
The collision was so violent that the 66-year-old woman was trapped in her car and the fire department had to free her from the wreckage before she was taken to hospital.
The occupants of the local train - there must have been very few of them - and the train driver were uninjured. Both vehicles had to be recovered afterwards.
