Is Daniel Ricciardo about to be sacked? The Australian, who is chasing points in Formula 1 for Racing Bulls, Red Bull Racing's sister team, is lagging behind expectations. There is now speculation that the New Zealander Liam Lawson could soon take over Ricciardo's cockpit.

Formula 1 continues in Japan and then in China. Daniel Ricciardo is already under a lot of pressure. "The New Zealand Herald reports that the Australian is under threat of being sacked. Liam Lawson could replace the veteran in the cockpit of the Racing Bulls as early as May.

Ultimatum 
There is even talk of an ultimatum from Red Bull Motorsport boss Helmut Marko. "Ricciardo has to come up with something soon," the Austrian had already emphasized before the race in Melbourne. At his home race, the 34-year-old was unable to finish higher than twelfth, while team-mate Yuki Tsunoda was able to show off with seventh place.

"It's a mental thing, because he has proven in the past that he is a fast driver. That happens sometimes," said Marko. If the New Zealand media reports are to be believed, however, his patience could soon run out ...
