Capital of Culture
With a delay: “Kunstigel” is finally erected
A pavilion should have been erected in Gmunden as part of the Capital of Culture Salzkammergut 2024 back in January, but it has only now been delivered. The first interim results are now available and artistic director Elisabeth Schweeger has a reason to celebrate.
Good interim results for the Capital of Culture Salzkammergut 2024: the opening weekend including the powder dance on 20 and 21 January in Bad Ischl was undoubtedly a magnet, as around 75,000 people visited Bad Ischl, as we reported.
The main exhibition "Art with Salt and Water" was also opened at that time in the brewhouse, which has attracted around 5,000 visitors so far. The large world theater in Bad Goisern had 700 visitors, the children's opera Saltice 750. Certain productions are in high demand, such as "Urlicht Primal Light", an acrobatic journey through Gustav Mahler's world of song.
Music band meets acrobats
The Musicbanda Franui from Innervillgraten in East Tyrol meets Australian acrobats at the Kongresshaus in Ischl. In addition to the premiere on April 6, there will be another performance on April 7.
There is also movement in outdoor projects, as the city of Salzburg has finally delivered the "White Noise" art pavilion to Gmunden. It was supposed to have been in place since January, but snow delayed the delivery. The first exhibition "Boden g'scheit nutzen" is due to open here on May 16.
By the way: Artistic Director Elisabeth Schweeger celebrated her 70th birthday on Sunday.
