Coach sent home
New details in the controversy surrounding Lara Gut-Behrami
New details in the row surrounding ski queen Lara Gut-Behrami. The Swiss skier parted ways with her successful coach Alejo Hervas on Wednesday and sent him home. "There is no longer a basis of trust between Lara and Alejo. That led to the separation," explains Hans Flatscher, Alpine Director of Swiss-Ski, on SRF.
According to "Blick", the 48-year-old Spaniard wanted to change careers for the coming season instead of working with Gut-Behrami as a member of the Swiss-Ski men's team coaching staff. "She had fully expected him to remain in her team," says Flatscher.
The 32-year-old confronted Hervas in Saalbach - and then sent him home bitterly disappointed after his confirmation. A success story comes to an end.
Flatscher does not expect her career to end
In any case, Flatscher does not expect Gut-Behrami to end her career after this season. "If she didn't want to continue her career, this story would probably not have happened to her like this," says the Austrian.
