Gswb will probably have a dual leadership again
Gswb, the largest non-profit housing developer in the country, is still not getting out of the headlines. After the scandal surrounding unresolved complaints, moldy apartments and the premature departure of managing director Peter Rassaerts, the next bombshell is now following.
Lukas Wolff, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, announced his resignation at the meeting of the important supervisory body on Tuesday. Previously, Wolff had repeatedly resisted his departure, but did not give in to pressure from the Supervisory Board, for example from the SPÖ and Bürgerliste.
New mayor will have his say with new boss
Wolff, a lawyer, has been a member of the Gswb supervisory board since 1988. He has been head of the board since 2013. The change at the top may come at an inopportune time for some. After the municipal elections and the new political situation in the city, there will soon be new members of the Supervisory Board. For the first time in the city, the KPÖ Plus will probably also have the right to nominate candidates.
In the meantime, it is also slowly becoming clear what will happen in the Gswb management. According to information from "Krone", it is becoming increasingly clear that there will once again be a dual leadership in the company management. Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP), who represents the state as owner, is also likely to favor this option. The tender for the future boss should be completed soon. Then there should be clarity.
It is now unlikely that an appointment will be made before the beginning of May, and therefore before the next municipal council is sworn in. This means that the future mayor will also have a say as the city's owner representative.
