Challenger in Zadar
Dominic Thiem against Filip Krajinovic LIVE today
Dominic Thiem won his opening match at the ATP Challenger tournament in Zadar, Croatia, against the Serbian Filip Krajinovic in two sets (6:2, 7:6) after some difficulties. The 30-year-old missed an early decision in the second set and had to tremble in the tie-break.
After several setbacks, tennis pro Dominic Thiem has recorded another success. The top seed from Lower Austria won his opening match against the Serbian world number 446 Filip Krajinovic 6:2, 7:6(4) at the Challenger tournament in Zadar on Monday. His opponent in the round of 16 will be Lukas Neumayer from Salzburg or Mathys Erhard from France, who will meet on Tuesday.
Krajinovic, the former world number 26, is fighting to return to his former strength after a long injury break, just like former US Open winner Thiem. After first round defeats in Brisbane, at the Australian Open and last week at a Challenger in Hungary, the win against the 32-year-old is Thiem's first main round success this year.
