Car collides with Badner Bahn train in Lower Austria
A car collided with a Badner Bahn train in Traiskirchen in the district of Baden on Tuesday evening. Three occupants of the car were injured, two of them seriously, according to the Lower Austria regional police headquarters.
One of the victims (25) had to be transported to Vienna General Hospital by emergency helicopter. The two other men (29 and 21) were taken to Baden Regional Hospital.
Victims rescued by fire department
According to the police, the 29-year-old driver of the car was seriously injured in the accident at around 7.15 p.m. in the Wienersdorf district, as was a 25-year-old passenger in the back seat, who had to be rescued by emergency services from Wienersdorf and Traiskirchen-Stadt. The front passenger (21) escaped with minor injuries. All of the men live in the district of Baden. The 43-year-old railcar driver and the occupants of the Badener Bahn train were uninjured in the accident.
