Shock images taken down early from the theater

Suddenly everything is different: two shocking pictures by Gottfried Helnwein, which caused a stir in Gmunden in recent weeks, as we reported, have now been removed. Musical-Frühling needs the façade of the Stadtthteater to announce its new production.

Gottfried Helnwein can't catch a break: first the media and the Internet were abuzz with reactions to the Austrian artist's shocking pictures, then it became known that the picture had initially been hung in front of the town hall façade without permission.

Attraction has shrunk
At last, the dust seemed to have settled. But now two pictures have had to make way for the next project: The Musical Spring in Gmunden, which begins with a premiere on March 22 and runs until April 21, is placing its posters at the municipal theater.

Only Helnwein's work "Küssende Kinder" (Kissing Children), which hangs in front of the town hall façade, remains and will be on display for longer. Incidentally, you can also call up background information on your cell phone using a QR code.
