New campaign
ÖVP positions itself emphatically as a party of the center
Political discourse is becoming increasingly rough. The ÖVP is of the opinion that this is not appreciated by voters and is now trying to position itself as a centrist party. They want to be the party of reason that stands against the decline of political culture.
This is to be communicated with two new posters. The subjects depict people who oppose the extremes and express what the ÖVP believes the silent majority in our country thinks: instead of agitation and vileness, we need more respect and cooperation. From the point of view of the People's Party, it is clear that the social center is much broader than the unrest on the fringes would suggest. The ÖVP is positioning itself as a party of the center and declares a "clear rejection" of the increasing political culture of belittling and badmouthing one another.
"Precisely because the other parties are increasingly moving to the political fringes, the People's Party is needed as the party of the center in our country. Neither the far left nor the far right are suitable ideas for Austria. Agitation and malice must never be allowed to rule our lives. The People's Party is the voice of everyone in our society who longs for cohesion, normality and respect. We are making this clear with our new campaign," says General Secretary Christian Stocker to "Krone".
