Car hits woman with baby carriage: mother dead
A horrific accident occurred on Saturday morning in Berlin near Potsdamer Platz. For as yet unexplained reasons, a car hit a passer-by pushing a baby carriage in front of her. According to media reports, the 41-year-old mother succumbed to her serious injuries in hospital. Her child had to undergo emergency surgery.
The accident occurred near a construction site where the speed limit is only 30 km/h. In addition to the two seriously injured people, the driver of the car involved in the accident and another road user, who tried to swerve in his vehicle and crashed into another car, also suffered injuries, some of them serious.
The life partner and sister of the deceased were eyewitnesses
The broadcaster rbb reported on its website that other people were slightly injured. According to the "Berliner Zeitung", the 41-year-old's partner and sister were eyewitnesses to the accident and are now receiving psychological support.
