Art thieves stole paintings from depot

The coup had gone unnoticed for weeks. Paintings and a collection of minerals are now missing from a hall in the district of Gmünd. The police are relying on help from the public in the search for the perpetrators.

The police are currently investigating an art theft in the Waldviertel. A total of five paintings have disappeared from a warehouse in Brand-Nagelberg in the district of Gmünd.

The loot is worth 30,000 euros
The stolen goods include a painting by Edmund Mahlknecht from 1856, a watercolor by Dornhackl and a work by Michael Burisch. "The unknown perpetrators also stole a collection of minerals," reports an investigator. The total value of the loot amounts to 30,000 euros.

Police ask for tips
