Ofner fails in round one at Indian Wells

Sebastian Ofner lost in the first round of his debut in Indian Wells on Thursday (local time). The 27-year-old Styrian, currently number 38 in the ATP ranking, lost 2:6, 6:3, 0:6 to the Croatian Borna Coric, who was only three places ahead of him, at the Masters 1000 tournament on hard court. The first duel between the two had been postponed by one day due to rain.

Austria's currently best tennis player is now heading to Miami for the last of his six-tournament overseas tour. Ofner has also not yet played in this event of the highest ATP level series, which begins on March 20.
