Once back, once forth
What are you doing with the injured player?
The soccer world has rarely/never seen this before. In Brazil, an injured player was dragged back and forth once by teammates and once by opponents - in the style of "Brother, come dance with me". Crazy!
Stoppage time in the match between Fluminense and Botafogo. The visitors want to wrap up the 3:2 lead, with a few extra minutes to go. That's when the protagonists reach into their bag of tricks. An injured player has to help out. He is writhing in pain on the edge of the pitch - outside. To gain time, a colleague rushes over and drags him back onto the pitch. Of course, there's time to be gained. The home side also overdo it. Whereupon the home keeper rushes up and drags the injured player back out. Shortly afterwards, he watches as another Botafogo player comes and rolls the injured player back onto the pitch.
And we thought we'd seen it all in soccer ...
