Chaos in ski resorts

Föhn storm paralyzes several cable cars

Temperatures of up to almost 20 degrees Celsius, plus gusts of wind of 120 km/h in some places - on Sunday, the foehn once again set in in Vorarlberg. Much to the chagrin of the ski resorts, some of which had to suspend cable car operations.

Skiing fun is currently (as of Sunday afternoon) noticeably dampened in several ski resorts. On the Arlberg, all aerial tramways have stopped operating due to the strong Föhn storm. This also means that the connections between the individual ski areas have been cut - for example, there is currently no way to get from Warth to Lech/Zürs as the Sonnenjet is also closed. As the Salober-Jet is also closed, all ski traffic in Warth is concentrated on just a few pistes, which has also had an impact on the search for a parking space.

Brandnertal: Only four of 15 lifts in operation
The situation is even worse in Brandnertal, where only four out of 15 lifts are currently in operation. Most winter sports enthusiasts have already finished their day's skiing.
