Oberthaler strong again, Eder protégé on the podium

Biathlete Kristina Oberthaler also finished in the top field in the IBU Cup pursuit in Obertilliach. The 25-year-old from Salzburg finished seventh with two penalties. Victory went to the Norwegian Marthe Johansen. In the men's event, Alfred Eder's protégé Sindre Jorde once again made it onto the podium.

Kristina Oberthaler fought for another podium place right up to the last shooting - in the end, the Pongau native finished in seventh place with two penalties in the Obertilliach chase.

The sprint third was 1:57.4 minutes behind the victorious Norwegian Marthe Johansen (1 penalty). Second place went to France's Oceane Michelon (2 faults/+52.7). Julia Schwaiger from Pinzgau (4 faults) improved from 25th to 19th place, Tyrolean Lisa Osl finished 44th.

Mühlbacher best Austrian
The men's event was once again dominated by the Norwegians. Sprint winner Mats Oeverby (3) triumphed eight seconds ahead of Martin Nevland (2/+8.0). Sindre Jorde, protégé of Salzburg coaching legend Alfred Eder, once again made it onto the podium in third place (3/+14.6).

The best Austrian was Fredrik Mühlbacher (6+3:2.1), competing for HSV Saalfelden, in 21st place. Also: 37th Maximilian Prosser, 41st Andreas Hechenberger, 45th Sebastian Trixl.
