Steiner misses out on Olympic ticket as eighth at the European Championships

Sylvia Steiner failed to achieve the hoped-for Olympic qualification at the European Championships for air rifle and air pistol in Györ.

The 41-year-old from Salzburg finished eighth in the air pistol on Thursday, after finishing the basic round as the best.

Gold and silver went to juniors Anna Dulce from Moldova and Simal Yilmaz from Turkey. However, Steiner still has several chances to qualify for this summer's Olympics in Paris.
