“Action sharp” at cab companies in Innsbruck
In mid-February, 26 companies in Innsbruck were scrutinized by the financial police during a special inspection. Tax evaders and other offenses were punished.
Officers from the financial police punished numerous violations during a special inspection of cab companies and buses at Innsbruck airport and train station on February 17. Together with employees from the Tyrol Provincial Police Directorate and the Trade Licensing Office, 26 companies and 88 people were checked during the operation. In addition to tax arrears and the correct application of the cash register obligation, a cab driver was caught who was registered as unemployed at the time of the check. Another driver was driving under the influence of narcotics - his license was confiscated. A total of 27 infringements were reported. Eight buses and their drivers were also checked and their driver cards and tachographs were read. Foreign buses were also checked. Fortunately, no infringements were detected here.
In this way, we are taking effective action against those who try to undermine the system. In this way, we are protecting honest cab companies and ensuring the safety of passengers.
