"It was just for fun"
Fake police officer up to mischief in Carinthia
A Carinthian man posed as a police officer in Friesach. After the check, the "real" police were immediately alerted.
Was it a carnival joke? A 43-year-old man stopped in his car in Friesach with a group of pedestrians aged 22 and 23 and pretended to be a police officer. He demanded the passers-by's ID cards. His son, who was riding in the car, photographed the documents. They were then returned.
"It was just a joke"
Then the young group thought they were watching the wrong movie. "After the check, the driver from the St. Veit district said that it was all just a joke and then simply drove off," said the police, who were immediately contacted by passers-by.
"Punishable!"
The 43-year-old was found at home slightly intoxicated. Press charges! "In Austria, this 'fun action' is prohibited and punishable by law," warns the police.
