Early spring weather with up to 18 degrees

The coming week will see almost spring-like temperatures of up to 18 degrees Celsius throughout Austria. In the east, the sun will prevail the longest. There will be no sign of the typical winter weather for a while.

Harmless clouds and long hours of sunshine will predominate throughout the country at the weekend. Skiers and snowboarders will still get their money's worth, as there is plenty of snow in many ski resorts, some of it artificial and some of it old snow. In the north, a few raindrops will fall in places. Highs will be between five and 15 degrees.

Monday will start cloudy and with isolated rain showers. However, these will subside by the afternoon. The sun will only rarely make an appearance. Nevertheless, it will remain dry throughout, especially in the south and west. During the night, some heavy squalls are expected in Vienna. Nevertheless, it will remain spring-like warm with temperatures of up to 17 degrees.

A mix of sun and clouds will continue to bring unusually mild temperatures of between nine and 18 degrees throughout Austria on Tuesday. It will be warmest in the south of the country. The wind will be light and it will remain dry throughout.

On Thursday, the likelihood of rain increases significantly. By the afternoon, temperatures will drop slightly to nine degrees, but they will still be high for the time of year. "Although the temperatures next week will bring spring fever, you shouldn't write off winter just yet," warn weather experts.
