Earthquake with a magnitude of 2.5 in the Leibnitz area

After the violent earthquake around Semmering on Thursday night, there was an expected aftershock on Thursday afternoon. The Leibnitz area was affected. No damage was reported.

Aftershocks to the strong earthquake on Thursday night are to be expected, the expert from Geosphere told the "Krone". At around 6 p.m. on Thursday, the time had come: the earth shook in Leibnitz.

According to Geopsphere Austria, the epicenter of the earthquake was west of Leibnitz. The quake had a magnitude of 2.5 and was clearly felt in the area of the epicenter. No damage to buildings is known and is not expected at this magnitude.
