Medical emergency causes race to be interrupted

A medical emergency at the women's super-G in La Thuile caused a lengthy interruption to the race. A course assistant had to be resuscitated.

After Federica Brignone, who started the race with bib number 10, the other athletes had to prepare for a longer break. On the TV footage, it looked as if a marshal had to be resuscitated. The race was stopped. The exact circumstances are still unclear.

A short time later, the marshal in distress was flown to hospital by helicopter.
