Senior citizen (75) falls into the trap of online fraudsters

Online crooks have struck again in Tyrol. This time, a senior citizen (75) from Innsbruck fell victim to a scam. The woman transferred around 1000 euros to the perpetrators' account.

The 75-year-old local from Innsbruck received a text message on Friday. In it, unknown perpetrators pretended to be her daughter. She had lost her cell phone and therefore needed money.

The woman complied with the request and transferred around 1000 euros to the account of the unknown perpetrators via Netbanking. The next day, when she met her daughter, the fraud was discovered and she reported the incident to the police.
