Shortly after 3 a.m., a fire broke out in a high-rise building in Vinzenz-Muchitsch-Gasse in Graz-Gries. A neighbor noticed the fire and the emergency services rescued the trapped occupant from the apartment.

The alarm was raised at exactly 3 o'clock and four minutes by the Graz professional fire department: A woman's neighbor had noticed a room fire in a high-rise building in Vinzenz-Muchitsch-Gasse. When the fire department arrived, passers-by informed them that there was in fact a person in the burning apartment who could not get out.

Wearing heavy breathing protection, the firefighters began to fight the fire. From outside, they positioned a turntable ladder to make contact with the trapped woman and calm her down.

The fire department was able to extinguish the fire quickly and prevent it from spreading further. The woman did not have to be rescued via the window, but was able to escape outside via the stairwell.

The damage probably amounted to several thousand euros. The Graz professional fire department was deployed with 6 vehicles and 25 men.
