Mette-Marit’s son is now turning his back on Norway

The Norwegian Crown Prince's court is getting emptier: after graduating from high school, Prince Sverre Magnus (19) is now turning his back on his homeland. 

While his sister Ingrid Alexandra (21) is doing her military service in the far north and half-brother Marius Borg Høiby (28) is possibly in rehab after his arrests, the youngest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit (51) and Crown Prince Haakon (51) is packing his bags.

According to the head of communications at the Norwegian court, Sverre Magnus will be spending the next six months traveling. Where exactly is he going? A secret! The palace is keeping quiet about his plans.

Timing or tactics?
It is striking that the trial against Marius Borg Høiby could also begin at exactly the same time. Is Sverre Magnus being deliberately taken out of the line of fire in order to observe the family turmoil surrounding his half-brother from afar? The coming months are likely to be challenging for Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon.

Sister Ingrid is also shielding herself from the press. She has voluntarily extended her original twelve-month service with the Pioneer Battalion of the Northern Brigade to 15 months! After that, she is drawn to study - also abroad.

So for the Norwegian Crown Prince family, it's time to say goodbye - and hope that turbulent times will soon be behind them.
