An idyllic location in seclusion does not only have its good sides. In a small community in the southern Waldviertel region, burglars recently took advantage of this. They chose a building used as a weekend home as the target of their coup. But the loot they made there left even experienced police officers with a big question mark.

Everything ransacked
The perpetrators first ransacked a wooden shed after breaking its padlock. However, they left gardening equipment and tools behind. They then forced open the front door and ransacked the entire house. But all they took was a baseball bat, a bottle of cognac, a charging cable and a bottle of water.

First clues
Although there are no immediate neighbors, the police have received tips from the public. For example, a conspicuous flatbed truck with foreign license plates was seen twice shortly before the crime. Investigations are underway.
