Prisoner hides under his girlfriend’s bed

A prisoner at Ried prison (Upper Austria) overindulged on Sunday after leaving the prison: When he did not return to his cell at the agreed time, the police launched a manhunt. After a short chase, officers found the 35-year-old: He had been hiding under the bed in his girlfriend's apartment.

"Prisoner not returned" - this report was received by the police on Sunday. The 35-year-old was actually being held in Ried prison and had unlawfully extended his stay.

The police immediately went to the prisoner's address. However, the officers only met his mother there and she was unable to help with the manhunt. There was also no sign of the 35-year-old in any of the pubs in the area.

When the police drove to the prisoner's home address again, they suddenly saw the 35-year-old sitting at the wheel of an oncoming car. The police took off in pursuit, but the renegade stepped on the gas and was able to flee through risky driving maneuvers.

Hide-and-seek did not work
The trail to him was laid, however, because the police found out who the getaway car was registered to. The officers then drove to the owner (40) in Bad Ischl. The 40-year-old woman opened the door heavily intoxicated and, according to the police, aggressively. She tried to explain to the officers several times that the person she was looking for was not there.

They searched the 40-year-old's apartment - according to information from "Krone", this was the prisoner's girlfriend. And so the 35-year-old was finally found: He was lying under a bed.
