Airbus A330 became a flying delivery room

A Brussels Airlines flight attendant recently became a midwife during flight SN202 from Dakar (Senegal) to Brussels (Belgium) shortly after midnight, turning the jet's galley into a delivery room.

The Belgian airline's aircraft had only been in the air for 30 minutes when a pregnant passenger complained to the cabin crew of severe abdominal pain.

They were contractions - not abdominal cramps
Flight attendant Jennifer J. realized within minutes that these were not just ordinary abdominal cramps, but that the woman was 32 weeks pregnant and had gone into labour!

Jennifer was able to call a doctor and a nurse for help via the on-board loudspeaker - shortly afterwards, the woman's waters broke.

Baby girl only took a few minutes
Then everything happened very quickly: the galley became the delivery room at an altitude of eleven kilometers, and mother Ndeye was able to hold daughter Fanta in her arms just a few minutes later, according to Bild.

The pilots, who had been informed and had already started the return flight to Dakar, were informed of the situation and one person (the baby, note) was added to the passenger list. Mama Ndeye slept through the return journey exhausted. Baby Fanta was allowed to make his first landing in Jennifer's arms.
