Ukraine destroys one of the Kremlin’s deadliest weapons

The TOS-2 is one of the deadliest conventional weapons systems in the world - Ukraine has now succeeded in destroying one of these artillery vehicles for the first time.

The TOS-2 is a Russian multiple rocket launcher capable of firing thermobaric warheads. As reported by the Warspotting portal, this is the first documented case of a TOS-2 system being destroyed.

First-person view drone in action
The Ukrainian attack is said to have taken place in the village of Petrivka, around ten kilometers south of the embattled city of Pokrovsk. The armed forces are said to have successfully attacked the weapon system using a fiber-optic-guided first-person view drone.

The TOS-2 was first presented at the traditional Victory Day parade in Moscow in 2020. It has a wheel-supported chassis, while its predecessor was still tracked. It is equipped with 18 rocket tubes that can fire thermobaric warheads. The combination of heat and pressure waves is particularly devastating and deadly with these weapons.

Moscow intercepted 90 drones from Ukraine
Meanwhile, Russia announced that it had intercepted and destroyed 90 Ukrainian drones on Monday night. 38 drones were intercepted over the Sea of Azov and 24 over the Krasnodar region in southern Russia, the Ministry of Defense explained on Telegram. In addition, a guided missile was successfully shot down over the Sea of Azov.
