Bernese Mountain Dog "Malu" has disappeared and her owner is desperate. Search dogs tracked her to Untertriesting in Lower Austria. Someone must have taken the dog in a car there. The problem: the finder does not report the dog and is therefore breaking the law.

It is every dog owner's nightmare that Silvia S. is currently living through. Her dog "Malu" got so frightened during a walk last Saturday that she broke loose and ran away. Since then, the search has been running at full speed. The desperate owner has now called in the "Dog Search Help Austria" and specially trained search dogs and drones with thermal imaging cameras have even been sent out.

The only thing left for me to do now is to put pressure on the public.

This would be his or her legal duty, as found animals cannot simply be kept - embezzlement is a criminal offense. "Malu is of course chipped and registered," says the owner. A sighting was reported in Untertriesting, but has not yet been confirmed. Witnesses also claim to have seen a dog like "Malu" on a leash with a younger couple, about 15 kilometers from the place of disappearance, later near Lanzenkirchen.
