She didn't have a ticket, but she did have a dog tag: Collie mix "Kaia" set off on an exploratory tour through the district of Baden on Thursday without her owner. She was only stopped by the police twelve kilometers later - in a public bus!

It is said that dogs sometimes run off to explore their surroundings - always following their nose - on their own paws. Rarely, but they even take public transport to do so. This is what happened in Bad Vöslau, in the district of Baden. Kaia" set off on an exploratory tour there on Thursday. And took the public bus without further ado.

Four-legged friend unaccompanied on the bus
The passengers were amazed when the four-legged friend made herself comfortable between the rows of seats without any company. "At first, we thought that his owners were also on the bus," says one passenger. But after a few stops, it was clear that "Kaia" was traveling without her owner.

Or rather: without a mistress. Because the owner of the collie mix was sitting at home. "She can open doors on her own, but has only ever been a passenger on a bus once before," she later told the police. Officers from the post in Trumau put an end to the furry-nosed fare dodger's excursion at a bus stop in Traiskirchen - twelve kilometers from her home. The dog was brought back home.
