Manhunt for “knifeman” with scars on his face

Shock for a 22-year-old man on Friday evening in Innsbruck: he was threatened with a knife in the street by an unknown perpetrator and demanded to hand over cash. In the end, the criminal fled without any loot. A manhunt was unsuccessful. The police are hoping for information.

According to the police, the attempted robbery took place at around 6.30 pm in the area of the Liebeneggstraße/Karmelitergasse intersection near Innsbruck's main railway station.

The as yet unknown perpetrator threatened the 22-year-old victim with a knife and demanded that he hand over cash and valuables. It apparently remained an attempted robbery. "The perpetrator then fled in the direction of Pechepark," said the investigators.

The man had noticeable scars on his face.

Investigators are hoping for clues
An immediate police manhunt was unsuccessful. The fugitive is around 1.80 to 1.85 meters tall and between 25 and 30 years old. He is slim, has white skin and speaks German. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a white hoodie with a hood. "The man had noticeable scars on his face," emphasized the police, who are hoping for information.
