A column of smoke several meters high caused a sensation in Emmersdorf near Rosegg (Carinthia) on Friday evening - a house had started to burn in a small settlement. The fire department was on the scene and one person was rescued from the flames.

Siren alarm in Rosegg and the surrounding area: "A total of five fire departments are currently on duty," confirmed the regional warning and alarm center (LAWZ), which had already been noticed by attentive "Krone" readers. On Friday evening, a house in the village of Emmersdorf near Rosegg started to burn and the building was fully engulfed in flames for hours.

According to initial information, one person was rescued from the burning house - the rescue helicopter was on site. The operation also proved to be challenging for the Floriani: There were problems with both the water supply and accessibility. The house in flames is located in the middle of a small housing estate, so it was not possible to use a turntable ladder. The fire departments tried to bring the fire under control - the surrounding buildings could still be protected up to the editorial deadline.
