Accident on the A3

Fatal rear-end collision followed wildlife accident

An accident occurred on the A3 south-east highway between the Eisenstadt and Hornstein junctions on Friday afternoon. There was no rescue for one driver. The highway had to be closed. 

According to initial reports, a car driver had a wildlife accident on the A3 between the Eisenstadt and Müllendorf junctions in the direction of Vienna. The man stopped in his vehicle and got out. A truck then hit the car.

 All help came too late
"There was a terrible crash," said a witness. The driver of the car got under his own vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Although the police, emergency doctor and fire department soon arrived at the scene of the accident, all help came too late for the victim. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
