Young talent acts “smart”

Three employees of heat pump manufacturer iDM have completed a new dual study program. The managing directors agree that this should bear fruit both now and in the future.

In 2021, Austria's first dual study program "Smart Building Technologies" was launched at the Innsbruck University of Applied Sciences MCI. The first students have now successfully completed their training. Among them are three junior employees from the heat pump manufacturer.

Elena Rainer, Florian Huber and Florian Eder work in the fields of Technical Product Management, Digital Products & Energy Management and Control Engineering. "They can apply the skills they acquire during their studies directly in practice. In this respect, the new degree course is an ideal qualification for future requirements in the field of building technology," explains iDM CEO Christoph Bacher.

The company is one of the founding members of the new Austria-wide training initiative. Other companies in the Pletzer Group, such as Pletzer Anton GmbH, based in Hopfgarten im Brixental, which deals with the planning and implementation of building technology and heating technology, and MP Consulting GmbH are also taking part.

"This is an ideal way to combine work and training. We are now looking forward to our graduates being able to start working full-time," explains iDM CEO Thomas Pletzer. An apartment in Innsbruck was made available to the employees for the period in which they completed their studies.
