Kals am Großglockner

Father (45) and daughter (11) crash with toboggan

On Saturday, a father (45) and his daughter (11) had to be flown from Kals am Großglockner to Lienz Hospital with serious injuries. The two had crashed into a stream on a toboggan. 

Shortly before 3 p.m., the vacationers from Germany were on a toboggan on a road from Ködnitztal towards Lucknerhaus. In a bend, they left the path and fell five meters down a steep slope.

Father and daughter ended up in the Ködnitzbach stream with serious injuries. Witnesses saw the accident and raised the alarm. The crew of the Martin 6 emergency helicopter and mountain rescuers had to be called out to rescue the casualties.
